What changes on November 5 |
|
|
This is a big one. Before we get into what we've shipped, we have some news to share: on November 5, we'll ship Zensical 0.1.0, move Studio out of beta, and launch Spark Community. Here's what changes – and what stays the same: |
- Zensical and all our Open Source projects will remain free forever.
- We are building beyond a static site generator.
- Material for MkDocs EOL extended until May 5, 2027.
- Studio and Spark allow us to sustain our work.
- Studio launches Free, Pro, and Team editions on November 5.
- Spark opens to individuals.

Six new MkDocs plugin replacements |
In Zensical 0.0.58, we shipped built-in replacements for awesome-nav, literate-nav, meta, minify, redirects, and tags. If you use these plugins in your MkDocs projects, Zensical's built-in replacements should work with your existing configuration. See the compatibility guide for supported settings and the compatibility roadmap for more planned plugin replacements. |
And yes, blog and social are coming later in September. |
Anchor redirects: don't lose your readers |
We've made redirects even better: with anchor redirects, you can safely rename headings, move sections to another page, or split a page into several pages without breaking bookmarks and incoming links. |
Studio got an update as well: it now manages redirects for you alongside updating internal links. When you rename a heading, it automatically detects the change and offers Add anchor redirect to preserve bookmarks and incoming links. It also keeps existing redirects in sync as you make further changes. |
